How to Get the Humiliation Badge in 99 Nights in the Forest
A complete step-by-step guide to unlocking one of the game's most mysterious achievements
The Humiliation Badge is one of the trickier ones to get in 99 Nights in the Forest because the description doesn't tell you what you need to do. To avoid you wasting your time trying to work out what a "secret action" means, here's a straightforward guide that will help you earn that Humiliation Badge in no time.
What is the Secret Action for the Humiliation Badge in 99 Nights in the Forest?
The simple answer for how to unlock the Humiliation Badge is that you'll need to kill your avatar by using a bear trap you've crafted. I managed to get this as early as Day 1 on a run, so if you're trying to earn your badges quickly, and you're new to the game, here's exactly what I did.
Pro Tip: Hunter Class Advantage
The Hunter Class begins with 2x Bear Traps in their inventory. So if you're not new to the game, you might already have the Hunter Class unlocked. Alternatively, you'll need 40 Diamonds to do so. In this case, you can get the badge at the start of Day 1.
Complete Step-by-Step Guide to Unlocking the Humiliation Badge
1 Gather Initial Resources
As soon as you spawn in, focus on destroying a few trees around you in the starting area to get as many logs as possible.
Use the Old Sack to collect up to five logs each time, and then take it over to the crafting table in your campsite. Drop 5 logs into the grinder and then 5 onto the campfire. The latter will expand the map, unlocking new areas for you to explore.
2 Find Metal Components
You now want to look for metal items. Think Broken Fans, Bolts, and Sheet Metal. Collect as much as you can, and also throw this into the grinder on your workbench. It's essential that you get at least 4x Scrap Metal to be able to proceed.
3 Upgrade to Crafting Bench 2
You'll now be able to make Crafting Bench 2, which requires 1x Scrap Metal and 5x Logs. This will also unlock the next set of recipes, which includes the Bear Trap.
4 Craft the Bear Trap
To craft the Bear Trap, you'll need 3x Scrap Metal. If you have enough, you can make the Bear Trap immediately after making the Crafting Bench 2.
5 Place and Activate the Bear Trap
The Bear Trap will be immediately added to your hotbar at the bottom of your screen. You can place this anywhere on the map, but for the purpose of this badge, you want to just throw it down on the floor near you.
Now, to actually unlock the badge, you need to repeatedly walk into the Bear Trap until your avatar dies. Each time you activate it, you'll need to reset it. I made the process quick for myself by standing directly on top of the Bear Trap, so every time I reset it, it would immediately trigger again.
6 Monitor Your Health and Claim Your Reward
It will take less than a minute to get the achievement this way, but you can see the health bar on the top-right corner of the screen to know when death is imminent.
